Having been to the Southbank restaurant previously and thoroughly enjoyed it, I couldn’t wait to try the Heddon Street branch when back in London for a show at a nearby theatre. And I was not disappointed - delicious food and the best mojito I’ve ever tasted (and I’ve tasted a few!) My husband and I are both vegetarian and can find eating out tricky when restaurants aren’t clear about which dishes are vegetarian or don’t have much choice, so it’s amazing to just be able to eat anything on the buffet. My only minor criticisms would be - firstly - that the staff were unfriendly and abandoned us after finding us a table, so it was lucky we’d visited the other branch to know about the concept of Tibits - we actually explained this to two other tables who were first time visitors and had also not had the ordering/weighing process explained. And secondly - the toilets were hands down the worst I’ve ever seen in any restaurant anywhere.

Located near the Railway Station, it offers a wide variety of Indian food. A friendly and young staff gave it a lovely appearance. You pay by the weight of your plate, so you take only what you really want, and do not waste even a gram of food. Great place !!

Found this place off the beaten track and on a day when it was sunny and warm with people eating outside, it caught our eye and we stopped for lunch. Interesting concept in that you pick what you want and pay by weight. Food was lovely even for our friend who does not like vegetables...

It was brilliant. A great idea to weigh food. The selection of dishes was excellent, I could become a vegan with this variety. Try the vege balls, very yummy as well as Thai butternut squash. It is also a lovely environment.

We were looking forward to lunch at Tibits and our time in the restaurant started well when we were greeted by a really friendly member of staff who explained how the system worked.
We then walked round the buffet where there was quite a bit of pushing and shoving as people were trying to put food onto their plates - the area is too small and the food is on a double layer so too many people are in the same area at once.
We then walked around and went back to where we'd started to try and get to the buffet and managed to get some food on our plates before we were fed up so we went to pay.
The plates are weighed and you are charged a set amount for the empty plate and then a separate amount for the food - two of us eating a small lunch came to just under £18 - definitely not worth the money.
By the time we then found somewhere to sit, our 'hot' food was very lukewarm and, although the taste of what we'd taken was fine, it wasn't particularly nice to eat as hot food should be eaten hot.

Great quality vegetarian/vegan food from an excellent buffet
We really like the food at Tibits and so have eaten there several times. You help yourself from a vegetarian/vegan buffet and the price is determined by the weight of food you have chosen. As vegans we really like the fact that all the food is vegan on a Tuesday but on other days the food is very well labelled. We usually end up with plates that have a wide variety of different foods and flavours and would recommend being adventurous and trying a small amount of a lot of things. There's not usually much delay in paying and so this is an ideal place to eat if you want some nice food before a show but don't have more than an hour to spend in a typical restaurant. You can focus on enjoying your food rather than watching the clock and might have time for seconds or some of the puddings.

I regularly go to Tibits. The selection of available dishes often changes. My favourite is the warm chocolate dessert. Usually the music is very nice. The people who work there are very helpful and friendly. The whole atmosphere is really nice. The labels on the dishes makes it easy to choose. I often go there with people who are not veg*an, and they always enjoy the food very much.

I give Tibits in London four stars only because I’ve alteady bestowed five stars on its sister restaurant in Zürich, Hiltl. The reason for the extra star is that Hiltl offers two storeys of delicious food, as opposed to London’s one. Quality-wise, Tibits offers the same amazing experience as Hiltl. The night we went, we chatted to the friendly elderly Texan couple at the table next to ours. They’d been at Tibits the night before, they told us, and as it happened, that was vegan night. (On other nights Tibits offers both vegetarian and vegan fare.) Our table neighbours liked vegan night so much, they decided to come back for more. And that sums up the appeal of this fabulous pay-as-you-weigh buffet feast: the food happens to be plant-based, but it’s delicious enough for sworn steak eaters to come back for more. And it’s priced to suit all pockets. The restaurant of the future.
I found it lacking in taste in comparison to similar vegetarian/vegan restaurants in Dubrovnik, London, Valencia and San Francisco. I think such restaurants have upped their game and this one has fallen behind. Nice clean place however and friendly staff.
This restaurant functions on a self-service basis. Customers select their meal from the wide range on offer and then pay for the food by weight. Although the selection is varied i was a little disappointed on my recent visit due to the hot food section only providing lukewarm choices. Not experienced this before so hoping it was a one-off experience.
This restaurant was brilliant as it offered so many delicious plant based options. Wonderful decor and great location! Having been so impressed we are now going to visit their London restaurant too, absolutely recommend. Good for your health, the environment & the animals.
We went during lunch time, and even though there were 9 strollers inside the place, there was still enough space to walk around and to park our stroller. Many high chairs available and also changing room for the babies. The buffet has many delicious veggie options. All cheese suggestions are super! All the above plus good prices and a cozy atmosphere made it a place that I will certainly visit again!

We heard about Tibits from other reviewers, as I was looking for a restaurant that could cater for my non-dairy diet. Tibits was perfect. It is situated on the first floor inside the main train station in Lucerne. The concept is buffet style where you load a plate from the amazing selections and then pay for it by weight. I was also ecstatic to see that their wine list is all vegan wines, which taste amazing (yes, milk protein (casein) is used in the fining process of wine). My partner is not a restricted eater, and was really impressed with the selection and standard of food available. Prices are really good as well, with 2 courses and wine costing us CHF49,00 - The next day (yep we went back) 2 course were only CHF37,00 - Highly Recommended!
If you're looking for good quality vegetarian or vegan food, then this is the place! Everything is presented nicely, and everything we tried was great! Lots of options, prices are good , and dining outside on a sunny day is just great!
